When I was in first grade and got to go hang out on Saturdays at the veterinary clinic in my neighborhood. What is your goal with every patient visit? To educate owners, which will allow them to make the best decisions for the health of their pets to give them the best quality of life for as long as possible. Do you have a mantra that your work by? Work hard, play hard. If you weren't a veterinarian, what would you be? A mechanical engineer Something you'd be surprised to know about me: I practiced veterinary medicine in Miami, Ohio, Las Vegas, and Austin before moving to Houston. I’ve been here 2 years now and love it! |

I have always wanted to work with animals, but I became passionate about veterinary medicine after working for a dairy vet in Wisconsin when I was in high school. What is your goal with every patient visit? Detailed exams and quality time educating my clients. Do you have a mantra that your work by? Never stop learning If you weren't a veterinarian, what would you be? Goat farmer. Something you'd be surprised to know about me: I have a metal elbow. |

In a fast-paced clinic like WAAC, eight heads are most definitely better than one! Education: BS from Texas A&M, DVM from Texas A&M 2013 When did you know you wanted to become a veterinarian? I think I always knew—for as long as I can remember. I always seemed to gravitate towards animals—especially cats—and I knew I wanted to do something in the medical field, so it was a perfect match of interests. What is your goal with every patient visit? To form a personal connection with the client while getting a clear, overall picture of my patient's health status. Do you have a mantra that your work by? "The good doctor treats the disease, the great doctor treats the patient who has the disease." -William Olsen If you weren't a veterinarian, what would you be? It would be fun to dabble in writing or editing, otherwise it would have to be something else with animals like a zookeeper or wildlife photographer. Something you'd be surprised to know about me: I like to cycle and rode in the MS150 this year! |

When I worked on a farm and vet clinic in Northern Kentucky. What is your goal with every patient visit? Address owners' concerns and identify ways to improve pets' quality of life. Do you have a mantra that your work by? Do what is best to the best of your ability. If you weren't a veterinarian, what would you be? A personal helicopter pilot and body guard. Why she likes working at WAAC: After graduating vet school, I could not imagine working anywhere else. I love this place! Education: BS from UH, DVM from Texas A&M 2015 When did you know you wanted to become a veterinarian? I wanted to be a veterinarian since the age of six, per my folks. I took the science route and was a registered technician for 10 years first. What is your goal with every patient visit? To make sure that I treate every animal as I would want my pets treated. Do you have a mantra that your work by? That all my owners feel comfortable calling me with questions or concerns at any time. If you weren't a veterinarian, what would you be? A psychologist. Something you'd be surprised to know about me: I am Canadian. |

Education: BA University of Texas, DVM from Ross University 1999 When did you know you wanted to become a veterinarian? I grew up bringing home strays and always knew I wanted to do something to help animals. What is your goal with every patient visit? To make the visit as stress free as possible for the animal and to educate pet owners on the importance of routine health care and things they can do to help their pets' live longer, healthier lives. Do you have a mantra that your work by? No act of kindness is ever wasted. If you weren't a veterinarian, what would you be? I can't imagine being anything else. Something you'd be surprised to know about me: I worked for the ASPCA in New York when they filmed "Animal Precincts" for Animal Planet. |

Why she likes working at WAAC: The staff is fun, friendly and caring Education: BS from University of Houston Downtown, DVM from Texas A&M 2011 When did you know you wanted to become a veterinarian? I’ve always loved animals and had all types growing up. In undergrad I discovered I also loved science and decided to combine the two things I loved, animals and science and become a veterinarian. What is your goal with every patient visit? To discuss all of the client’s concerns and ensure that all of their pet’s health and well-being needs are addressed. Do you have a mantra that your work by? To treat all patients with the same care and compassion that I would my own pets. If you weren't a veterinarian, what would you be? I would probably work for an animal rescue group. Something you'd be surprised to know about me: My family is from Belize and I spent a lot of time there growing up and a large part of that time was spent trying to rescue stray cats and dogs! |

When I was about 20 years old—my father discouraged me when I was younger so I didn't realize it was an option! What is your goal with every patient visit? People are pleased and pets get better and are well protected. Do you have a mantra that your work by? Treat people with respect and in the same manner you wish to be treated. If you weren't a veterinarian, what would you be? A spy! Something you'd be surprised to know about me: I used to be a cab driver. |
